Privacy policy

This policy covers the Postscript website (post-script.app), the Postscript tool wherever it runs, the Postscript Android app and the Postscript Chrome extension. Last updated 17 October 2026.

Who we are

Postscript is developed by G2K, based in Dublin, Ireland. You can reach us through our contact page.

No accounts

You don't need an account to use Postscript, and we don't ask for your name or email address to use the tools.

Your work on your device

Drafts, notes and settings are saved in your browser's storage (or in the Android app's or Chrome extension's storage) on your own device, so you can pick up where you left off. Clearing your browser data or uninstalling the app removes them. In the Android app, files you download are saved to your phone's Pictures/Postscript or Download/Postscript folder.

What is sent to us

To understand how Postscript is used and to improve it, the tool sends us a record when you work on or export something. This includes:

  • which tool you used, the template or settings, the file format, whether you have Pro, and the time;
  • a copy of the image or file you exported;
  • while you work, a preview image of your draft and, for books and notes, the text you have written;

These records are stored on our server and can be seen by the Postscript team. They are not linked to your name or an account. Your IP address is used briefly to stop the service being flooded with automated requests, and is not stored with your records. If you want something you made removed from our records, contact us and describe it (the tool, roughly when, and what it showed) so we can find it.

Buying Pro

Payments on the website are handled by Stripe. Your card details go to Stripe, not to us. We receive your email address to send you your Pro code, and keep a record of the purchase. Stripe's own privacy policy applies to the payment.

Contact form

If you write to us, we receive your name, email address and message by email and use them only to reply.

Other services the tool uses

Some features load content from other services, which receive your IP address when they do: Google Fonts (fonts), Cloudflare cdnjs (file conversion libraries, on the website), Iconify (clip art search), Imgflip (meme templates), and Apple's iTunes Search, Open Library and Wikipedia (book, album and film covers in Top 9, which receive what you search for). The website is hosted by WordPress.com. We don't use advertising, and the Android app and Chrome extension contain no advertising or analytics libraries.

Children

Postscript is not directed at children under 13.

Your rights

Under data protection law (including the GDPR) you can ask for access to, correction of or deletion of personal data we hold about you, and you can complain to the Irish Data Protection Commission. Contact us to make a request.

Changes

If we change how Postscript handles information, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
